STRENGTHEN POLITICAL PARTICIPATION

In Arizona, all political power is derived from the people. Yet in recent years, our fundamental rights have come under increasing attack through legislatively referred statutes and constitutional amendments aimed at undermining key democratic processes, specifically, vote-by-mail and Arizona’s initiative and referendum systems. These are cornerstones of direct democracy, and I will fight to protect them. But protection is not enough. We must go further and expand your ability to participate meaningfully in our political process. That’s why I support a constitutional amendment to expand the use of the Secretary of State’s online petition portal, allowing citizens to electronically sign initiative and referendum petitions. This reform will make it easier, safer, and more accessible for Arizonans to bring their priorities directly to the ballot. Democracy should not be obstructed; it should be empowered. I am committed to ensuring that your voice and your vote remain central to how Arizona governs.
